It has been a few weeks since Sirpa, who is the owner of Siri (Vallklanens Dartmoor Dreamer), wrote about Siri in the group called “puli vänner” on facebook. We had just gotten home from the Internationel dog show in Ronneby where Ester was BIS 3. You might think that the happiness after being placed in the best in show final is hard to beat, but the truth is that what Sirpa wrote made us so much happier.
To know that a dog we bred is doing great and is spreading a lot of happiness around her is the best news we as breeder can get! It beats all the results from competitions and shows.
Sirpa wrote that her mother had a stroke in july and Sirpa went to Finland to visit her, bringing the puli Siri with her. Sirpas mother had problems with her speech and had difficulties moving the left side of the body. Siri and Sirpa visited Sirpas mother every day for two weeks and she is doing great. The left arm is almost functioning as it used to. Sirpa says a big thanks to wonderful Siri who helped her mother move her arm because she likes to pet Siri. Her mother also spoke a lot to Siri without feeling shy because Siri does not care what it sounds like. Sirpa’s mother has said that the best medicine in her recovery has been Siri. Even the other patients in the room have been really positive and also get encouraged to get out at meet Siri.
Sirpa, please say hello to your mother and to Siri of course. We hope that your mother is doing well! / Inger and Anna
