We have been lucky to get lots of snow this january. We love it and the dogs love it!
We also took some photos for the bearded collie yearbook.
A couple of weeks ago we got the fantastic news that Siri (Vallklanens Dartmoor Dreamer) with owner Sirpa got the certificate to work as a therapy dog / care dog. Well done and congratulations you two!
At the same time we were in Leipzig with Edith and Kafka.
We showed the dogs at the German winner show where Edith became German junior winner 2017. They were also shown at the world dog show. Edith got an excellent and Kafka was 4th in the champion class. We are still happy because there were so many nice dogs there.
Home again we got some nice, cold winter weather.
Last week we went to the Danish bearded collie clubs chistmas dog show and Märta (Natterjack Starshine) was not only BOS, but also got her final CAC to become a Danish champion!
It is raining and the leaves are starting to change color. It feels like fall is here and we are remembering our summer…
Lovely walks by the sea:
Boat rides on the lake:
Walks in the forest:
Visiting Oliver and Maja in Gothenburg:
We got a visit from Siri (Vallklanens Dartmoor Dreamer) and Emma (Vallklanens Sweet Swede).
Family picture with mother Ester and (half) siblings Edith, Kafka, Siri and Emma:
Emma looks a lot like her sister Edith:
Edith, Elsa and Sally came with us on a trip to Norway. We made many stops on the way, here in Borgvik and Hovfjället, Sweden:
We went to the SKK international and national all breed dog shows in Tvååker where Edith, our junior, was BOS two days in a row, and that with some nice competition. We are so proud of her. Kafka was 2nd dog both days.
Ester came along as company, here sitting between her good looking offspring Kafka and Edith.
We also made a nice trip to Bremen in Germany where Edith won the junior class both days and has now become a German junior champion (VDH JCH). Hugo helped to show her in best bitch class. Perhaps he is a future junior handler?!
Kafka and Edith are trying new beds:
It was a successful weekend where Elsa finally got her last CAC to become a German champion (VDH CH). Märta won her class and got a CAC and Kafka was BOS.
Now we are preparing for the fall. Anna will have a baby soon, we are going to the swedish bearded collie club’s breeder’s conference, to a couple of seminars about dog foods, we are going to the world dog show in Leipzig and much more.
We have been to a few rally obedience competitions this summer. One of them was the swedish bearded collie clubs yearly competition.
Märta (RLD N Natterjack Starshine) competed in the intermediate level. We didn’t get qualifying points, but were happy anyways. She was so positive and we tried our best.
Sally competed in the champions class, and got 87 points out of 100. Unfortunately we would need 90 points to get a CC, but we are happy!
This summer we have given some extra effort to our training. For example, Sally and I got to meet Hanna Nilsson who has been competing in the national team in rally obedience, for some coaching. That was very valuable for us!
In july we went to an evening competition in Falkenberg. Sally and Märta competed, and Märta did really well with 89 points and was placed 4th in her class.
We also got some visitors. Busan (Vallklanens Bright at dusk) came to visit with her owner. Busan is a really lovely fawn bearded collie!
Sigge (Vallklanens Barra Boy) came to visit with his family and he is a positive, happy, good looking boy!
We also met with Wille (Vallklanens first into the light), and he was so happy to see us, all the pictures were blurry. It is always nice to meet with dogs that we have sold, and see that they are doing well.
Maj has been an eventful month where we have been to a lot of events with our dogs.
Anna went to the yearly meet up for the hungarian breeds at Ljungby dog club. There were many puli och pumi there and a very nice gathering as usual. We were BBQing, trying agility, rally obedience and talked with friendly people. Kafka, Sally and Wilma came along.
Thank you Marianne Nyman for the pictures with Wilma running free and the picture of Anna and Rya.
The same weekend Inger and Janne went to Neumünster, Germany with Edith and Märta. Lotte and Jan also came along with Valle and Nisse. Edith got a german junior CAC. On the way home they all spent some time in Sönderborg in Denmark.
The next weekend it was time to go back to Denmark. Märta got her second CAC at the danish bearded collie clubs specialty in Lyngby.
The 21st and 22nd of may there was a big rally obedience competition in Halmstad. We got some nice nice visitors at our place in Äskilt: Bea and Vera.
We helped out as volonteers at the agility competition, but there were several dogs from Vallklanen competing. Congratulations and well done Malin and Bilbo (Vallklanens Benbecula boy) who got a great result and moved up from level 1 to level 2.
Annelie, Cajsa and Chrille also competed with Vera (Vallklanens Devon Heartbreaker) and Bea (Vallklanens Bright as Daylight).
Thank you Annelie for the nice photos from the agility competition!
In the end of may we went to Tidaholm to the Svk FUR specialty with our puli. It was a really hot day and the dogs were searching for shade.
Edith went best junior bitch and 4th best bitch. Ester was 2nd best bitch and Kafka 2nd best male. A good day in other words! Congratulations to Esters sister Rut who was best in show and to Marianne Nyman and Stefan Ernstsson at Kennel Impeccable who had the best breeders group of the day with Ester, Rut, Traja and Csabo.
May was a hectic month with acitivies every weekend, but we had a lot of fun!
Last weekend we were out with the camper and the dogs. That saturday we went to Markaryd and a rally obedience competition where Märta did a really good round with 89 points (out of 100).
The weather was beautiful last week and we went to visit Lotte and Jan, Valle and Nisse in Klippan. On the sunday we did an excursion to the national park of Söderåsen. Anna also came with Kafka and Ester so we had 8 dogs with us and got some attention from other hikers.
Kopparhatten, a nice viewpoint in the park:
On the monday our tour continued to Höör where Märta and I competed in rally obedience again. This time she got 96 points and came in second place!
Afterwards we went for a nice walk in the forest among the spring flowers:
Today was the third time Märta got good points in a rally obedience competition, with 94 points we came in 4th place. This also means that Märta has gotten her first title (RLD N) and will move up from the beginners level to the next level. We are on a roll 🙂
A big congratulations to Dennis, Sigge, Imla, Bilbo, Lewis, Elsa, Totiki, Mållgan, Doris ,Bella and Edda who are turning 3 years old today!
We hope that you are all doing great. We have wonderful memories from this litter.
Elsa has “celebrated” her birthday by mating with a handsome boy. Now we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will have puppies at Vallklanen this summer ❤
Today is Sally’s 10th birthday. She is a beautiful and wise bitch. She has followed me to work and brought a lot of joy to the elderly, she has made it all the way to the master level in rally obedience and she has also competed in the first and second level of traditional obedience. Throught the years she has gotten three litters of puppies and she is an international champion. We hope that we will get many more happy years with her. To us she is very special ❤
Where did the past few months go? I think we need a bit of an update here!
We’ve said goodbye to both Piaf and Hygge. Piaf is now called Licorice (Vallklanens Sweet Licorice) and lives in Germany with a breeder who also has bearded collies. We are really happy for that! Hygge travelled to Devon, England, where he is also doing well!
In the beginning the house felt very empty without the puppies, but now Edith makes sure to keep us occupied.
We have been to a couple of shows. One in Hannover, Germany and one in Gothenburg, Sweden. Our dogs have done well. Märta was 4th best bitch at MyDog in Gothenburg. She was also crufts qualified because she won the junior class.
The dogs have taken turns to come with me to work. Even Edith has come to say hello to the elderly who live at the nursing home.
Ester and Kafka are living with Anna most of the time. We have finally finished building the new dog yard, where the dogs can hang out when Anna goes to work.
It is not very far to the beach from Anna’s house, so the dogs get to go on a lot of beach walks.
This weekend we went to visit Elsa.
Pernilla helped us to take a few photos. It was easier said than done to get everybody to focus…
…but finally we got a few nice shots.
